Chickasaw, Alabama, United States Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Chickasaw, Alabama. Overview This position involves operating production equipment on a rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts, both day and night, in a manufacturing environment. The role requires ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy while performing equipment operation, maintenance, and process troubleshooting. Responsibilities Operate hand or power tools, forklifts, computers, and production equipment.
Perform team duties such as managing meetings, communicating with other teams or individuals, managing documentation, records, and scheduling personnel.
Maintain safety, environmental, product quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy for their area.
Arrange, load, move, package, handle, transfer, label, sample, and document process materials.
Set up, adjust, clean, take apart, put together, or perform minor maintenance on machines or equipment.
Verify equipment or areas are safe for normal use, hazardous work, servicing, or maintenance.
Monitor and control processes using visual observation, process data, and online testing.
Identify and troubleshoot problems in processes, products, or equipment, and work towards solutions.
Gather, maintain records, and use statistical control charts.
May generate, handle, transfer, move, drum, label, sample, and document waste.
May prepare, load, move, and unload various materials.
Apply reasoning ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
Interpret a variety of instructions to perform tasks.
Perform tasks assigned to operations as per Master Task List.
Ensure operational activities and process performance align with business and unit goals.
Coach and train others on plant operations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED
3 years of experience working in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
Basic computer software knowledge
Forklift experience
General mechanical equipment knowledge
Ability to stand for long periods, climb, stoop, kneel, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds
Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
