Laser Operator and Shear Press Brake Operator

Job Summary:

Assists machine operator and performs entry level or repetitive machine operation duties

Job Requirements:

Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions on picking tickets and cross-reference drawings, safety and policies manuals) Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions Experience on overhead crane operation desired Previous experience in related field such as construction, or fabrication helpful Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination

Essential Functions:

Understands and follows all company safety policies and procedures. Positions work pieces to be processed securely on machine, manually or using hoist or crane Records information of work pieces processed Marks/tags identification on material/work pieces Marks material after processing; stores material for additional processing and/or shipping Identifies equipment and material problems and advises machine operator Cleans work area and lubricates equipment May assist in performing quality control inspections on finished product performs In Process Quality Inspections Occasionally tends machine for proper functioning and counts finished work pieces to determine if product order is complete Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Working Conditions:

Employee will work in an open warehouse the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: Extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots with metatarsal and hearing protection. When using grinders a full face shield is required in addition to safety glasses.

Physical Requirements:

In a typical workday, employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, lifting work pieces weighing up to forty (40) lbs. manually or by crane to work area and properly positioning it for processing the orders.
