Job Description

Camera Prep Technician position -- full time Looking for a candidate with 1-2 years minimum experience either on set or working in a rental house prep floor. This job is a Jack of all trades position perfect for someone who wants to get into a great position with a rental company with room to grow and to develop relationships to work on set. Knowledge and experience with high grade cinema cameras and cinema camera accessories from Manufacturers such as:
ARRI, SONY, RED, PRESTON, SMALLHD, & TERADEK
Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge of Photography and Cinematography basics such as exposure, F stops, Depth of Field, Shutter Angles, FPS, ISO, Color Space, Gamma, Resolution, Bit Depth MUST be polite, thoughtful and hard working MUST be able to follow through start to finish on checking equipment in and out, facilitating subrentals, drivers and repairs
Duties Include:
Being on point and on call for Assistants building cameras for Commercials, TV shows, Movies and Music Videos. Doing Quality Control Checks on Digital Cameras, Film Cameras and Cinema lenses. Learning about Lenses, Optics and Filters, and be able to assist in tests and answer technical questions in relation. Staying abreast of the equipment going out and returning to the shop Shipping Equipment via FEDEX to out of town customers Receiving and checking in equipment from customer jobs Troubleshooting equipment and providing solutions from inventory during prep days, - find solutions for power, cables, monitors, preston etc. Spearheading sub-rental needs as they arise Working with existing Prep floor team in Updating Orders and checking in and out gear Identifying Loss and Damage to equipment during and after jobs. Making and answering phone calls and assisting with general operations Assisting with repair of equipment when necessary, ordering supplies open/close locking up of the shop if needed.
