Position Overview:
Operates power presses to trim, punch, shape, and notch, draw, or crimp metal stock by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties:
Operate Punch Press Machine Notifies a Material Handler about job specifications with sufficient time to get any needs supplied as set-up is completed without interruptions. (Coil material on the reel, proper material lubricant, etc.) Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications. Adjusts ram stroke to specified height. Adjusts feeder speed, loop controller, and other devices to assure problem-free operation. Sets air, when required, at the minimum volume possible to assure proper blowing of parts. Grease die pins (do not oil die pins). Oils die roller bushings (do not grease roller bushings). Set up and adjust safeguards for press operator Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction. Inspects workpieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors. Submits a conforming part to Quality Assurance for inspection and production approval. Cleans work area of debris and lubricates the critical moving parts of the punch press. Make sure that the proper material lubricant is provided to the operator. Scraps all defective parts made during set-up operations to avoid mixing with good parts to be produced. Closes job cards before leaving presses. Remove and store the die with the last sample or strip and other related items. Request a Repair Tool Ticket for every die that requires maintenance. Must be able to read simple blueprints and use all standard measuring tools. Other duties may be assigned.
Experience:
1-3 years' experience and/or training related to qualification requirements. Must have experience operating battery powered and handheld tools Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
