Job Description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years.
NJFC operates three production facilities:
Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a seasonal Industrial Filler Operator (Diced & Paste) to operate aseptic paste and diced filling equipment to fill 55-gallon drums and 300-gallon bag-in-box containers (bins). Ensures that all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Safety, and Health Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures are followed. Ensure that all aseptic and sterilization procedures are always in place at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June - October. Neil Jones Food Company Key Responsibilities:
Ensures that all equipment to be used is fully functional. Works at filling station(s) assigned by the Filler Supervisor. Fills 55-gallon bag-in-drum and 300-gallon bag-in-box containers under aseptic filling conditions and maintains constant watch over containers during the filling cycle. Operates container identification producing equipment and ensures each container is labeled with the proper completed, legible, identification tag(s). Maintains good communication with and reports all discrepancies to the Filler Supervisor, maintenance problems, operations problems, personnel issues and product specification discrepancies and filler area supply needs.
Requirements :
One to two years related experience and/or training with similar equipment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires basic computer knowledge and the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform essential duties. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and have a good attendance record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
