Job Description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years.
NJFC operates three production facilities:
Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a seasonal Packaging Operator I to operate and troubleshooting of case former/palletizing equipment. Ensures integrity of boxes and quality of stacked pallets. Monitor fiber, glue, slip sheets, dust cover sheets, and corner boards to produce square clean pallets, ready for stretch wrapping. This role will be responsible for program codes into and monitor Marsh case printer to ensure accurate, clean, clear code is being printed at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. Neil Jones Food Company Key Responsibilities:
Inspects for proper function and do not modify, bypass, or otherwise circumvent all safety features on machinery and reports any safety hazards to Pouch Supervisor. Pull one retained sample per hour (or additional samples if requested) for Quality Assurance purposes. Ensure the integrity of the box quality, packing arrangement, and printed information is maintained. Ensure that all pouches pass through the metal detector before packing the product. Performs hourly checks on Safeline metal detector (CCP) and ensures its proper operation.
Requirements :
Skills and knowledge in the operation of case-making/palletizing equipment. High School diploma, GED, or at least one year or relevant experience and/or a combination of education experience. Ability to read, write, and speak English to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to clearly communicate shift pass-down with the oncoming operator. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
