Contract to Hire Position Summary TalentWise is seeking an EDM Machine Operator I to support our customer onsite in Fremont, CA with the manufacturing and re-manufacturing of build plates used in advanced metal additive manufacturing (3D printing) systems. This is a hands-on role with a primary focus on Wire EDM operation , supporting precision cutting, rework, and manufacturing of complex metal components. The position includes working with equipment such asSSG HB1200 & HB800
Wire EDM machines and EDMMax 818W Fast Wire EDM systems , along with supporting CNC machining and general shop operations. This role is structured as a contract-to-hire opportunity , where candidates will initially be employed by TalentWise and support our customer's operations, with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs. The EDM Machine Operator I will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams in a fast-paced production environment and is expected to maintain a high level of attention to detail, safety, and consistency. Required Qualifications Operate and set up wire EDM equipment (including SSG HB1200, HB800, and EDMMax 818W Fast Wire EDM machines) for precision cutting and manufacturing tasks Perform EDM machining on build plates and complex metal components requiring tight tolerances Monitor EDM processes, adjust parameters, and ensure consistent part quality Perform machining, rework, and finishing of build plates and 3D printed components Operate CNC equipment (including 3-axis machines) as needed to support production Perform machine setup, probing, tool changes, and cutting tool assembly Read and interpret G-code, work instructions, and engineering drawings Support fabrication of fixturing and non-standard work holding as needed Perform routine machine maintenance, leveling, and upkeep Maintain 5S standards, shop organization, and general cleanliness Track and document work using electronic manufacturing systems Order or coordinate tooling, materials, and consumables as needed Identify and report defects, issues, or nonconforming parts Collaborate with engineering teams on manufacturability and process improvements Preferred Qualifications Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments Experience with tight-tolerance machining and complex geometries Experience operating or maintaining furnaces (e.g., stress relief) Experience with metal depowdering systems or similar equipment Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) Familiarity with CAM software (HSMWorks, Fusion 360 CAM) Experience working in a regulated or safety-focused manufacturing environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to perform repetitive tasks Required use of steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, and other PPE as required Education High school diploma or GED Technical or vocational training a plus Work Schedule Onsite in Fremont, CA Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Benefits Competitive hourly pay ($29 - $40 per hour) 401(k) plan 100% paid Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid holidays and paid time offJob Type:
