Machine Operator

Overview This position is a forklift operator responsible for the safe and efficient movement of pallets throughout the Goshen Mill. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production and highest product integrity. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clean-up left-over product around tanks and other equipment. Load/Unload trucks cars with forklift. Operate forklift and other equipment to support production on a daily basis. Stack bags of product in a concise and consistent manner. Operate augers, belt-driven machinery, and elevators used in the production process. Operate various machinery to support production. Input receipts from the sack warehouse into the Pennant system Responsible for verification of outbound dairy re-sale orders Cross-train with other departments to provide consistency throughout the Company. Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary. Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary. Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor. Qualifications Three years manufacturing experience Forklift experience; certification required. Basic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, and other equipment used in the production process. Skills Understanding of machine operational processes and procedures. Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Pro-active, self-motivated, and honest. Forklift certification required. Basic computer skills. Physical Requirments Continuously lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50-pounds; regularly lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 75-pounds. Continuously shovel material. Frequently climbs ladders; occasionally works at heights of 100 feet. Frequently stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position. Vision sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks. Environment Continuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions. Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment. Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust. Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels. Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
