Role:
BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Operator to join our client's site in Irvine, CA. This role will support the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the candidate may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Performs routine assignments according to specified and/or standardized procedures. Work is closely and continually reviewed. The position requires maintaining accurate and up-to-date job documentation for cell operations and functions, clearly communicating ideas, problems, and solutions to manufacturing management, and following all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role also supports continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Produce high quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Perform assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, ICDs, leads, and related medical device assemblies. Perform routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date job documentation for cell operations and functions. Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to manufacturing management in written and oral form. Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers, including tours. Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices during all operations. Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes. Maintain accurate records to ensure traveler and quality documents are accurate and all parts are traceable. Address quality issues to assure product quality. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Participate with Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics. Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages. Ability to prioritize work by determining sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance. Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts. Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision. Ability to work under close supervision in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment. Dress Code /
Production Area Requirements:
Clothing must be non-shedding and free of frayed hems or loose threads. Tassels, fringes, glitter, sequins, and loose materials are not allowed. Sweaters, fleece, loose knit garments, and loose fiber clothing are not allowed. Clothing must be clean and free of contamination. Clothing from the waist up must fit under the lab coat/gown. Sleeves and high-neck clothing must remain inside gowning materials. Caps, hats, scarves, or bandanas are not allowed under the bouffant. Loose fitting clothing is not permitted around machinery or soldering/brazing torches. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are required. Sandals, clogs, slippers, and open shoes are not allowed. Torsos, upper arms, and legs must remain covered. Nail polish, acrylic nails, and artificial nails are not allowed. Jewelry or body piercings that cannot be covered are not allowed in production areas. Makeup is not allowed. Scented personal products are not allowed except deodorant.
