Visual Inspector Job Description This role focuses on performing detailed vial inspection and packaging of finished products to ensure they meet all quality and specification requirements. You will work in a cleanroom environment, follow strict procedures, and support the manufacturing team by maintaining accurate documentation, proper labeling, and safe handling of materials and hazardous waste. Responsibilities Complete required training modules to become certified as a vial inspector. Complete training modules on proper gowning techniques for entering and exiting designated cleanroom areas. Visually inspect vials, labels, and finished packaged goods to verify they meet all specifications and quality standards. Perform manual labeling and packaging of finished products according to specifications when automated machinery is unavailable. Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including recording, maintaining, and organizing batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks for assigned areas. Ensure proper labeling and safe disposal of hazardous waste generated on the packaging floor. Assist other team members in manufacturing and related areas as needed to support production and quality goals. Maintain good workplace organization and housekeeping of tools, inspection stations, and packaging machines. Adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO rules and regulations related to the position. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor in support of production and quality objectives. Essential Skills At least 1 year of visual inspection experience, preferably in a regulated environment. Experience with inspection and packaging processes, particularly for medical or pharmaceutical products. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or nonconformities in vials, labels, and packaging. Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment and follow strict gowning and cleanliness procedures. Good oral and written communication skills to document work accurately and collaborate with team members. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills to support manufacturing operations and resolve issues. Demonstrated initiative and manual dexterity for precise inspection, labeling, and packaging tasks. Ability to stand continuously for two or more hours while performing inspection and packaging duties. Ability to work safely and operate all material-moving equipment in a safe manner. Basic math skills to support documentation, counts, and related tasks. Willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary to meet production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar regulated industry is preferred. Familiarity with medical device or pharmaceutical packaging processes is an advantage. Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO standards. Comfort working with automated and manual packaging equipment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple areas within manufacturing as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a cleanroom manufacturing environment that requires proper gowning and adherence to strict cleanliness and safety protocols. The role offers positions on a 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. You will spend extended periods standing at inspection and packaging stations, working with both manual and automated equipment. The environment emphasizes organization, housekeeping, and safe operation of material-moving equipment, with clear procedures and documentation requirements to support GMP and ISO compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.60/hr.
