Laser Operators will be responsible for set-up & operation of the laser cutting machine to meet customer drawings and requirements. Must be able to organize, load correct metal and utilize programs according to the chosen cutting sequence. You will be responsible for monitoring the cutting performance and utilization to ensure parts are being cut properly. General Accountabilities Mitsubishi Laser experience preferred. Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. Monitoring laser for mechanical issues and fix minor problems or report them to supervisor. Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation. Inspect finished parts for quality and conformance with customer requirements & notify supervisor of any issues found. Monitor tanks system and report reordering levels to purchasing team. Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities. Keep work area clean and organized. Follow all company rules and policies. Follow all safety rules and quality standards. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency. Scans travelers/work orders for each job to track time accurately. Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, forklift, or other equipment. Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above. •The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Job Qualifications Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years of related experience on Mitsubishi, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience Solid background working with sheet metal Knowledge of tooling and maintenance Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, and Copper Candidate has to be a strong team player Candidate has to be reliable Skills Required Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Reading comprehension Ability to use Precision Hand measuring devices such as calipers Ability to read a tape measure and ruler Ability to interpret blueprints and general knowledge of tolerances Must be able to lift up to 60lbs. Time management Problem solving Forklift Certification Equipment Mitsubishi SR-F 3kw Fiber Laser, Calipers and other inspection equipment as required.
