Sacramento Job Description This role operates and maintains rainware roll formers, slitters, and related production equipment in a manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator sets up machines, monitors production quality, and performs basic maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate output. The position involves hands-on work with metal components, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with other operators and departments. Responsibilities Set up and operate rainware roll formers, slitters, and other assigned machines and equipment according to work orders and production requirements. Adjust machine settings to accommodate various material thicknesses, clamp placements, and specific job requirements. Inspect parts using tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices to verify accuracy and quality. Read, interpret, and complete production orders accurately and in a timely manner. Perform secondary operations on manufactured parts, such as cleaning and finishing, as required. Arrange and organize parts as needed for production, ensuring efficient workflow throughout the process. Place raw materials, partially completed work, and finished products in the appropriate storage or production areas. Perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance and reduce downtime. Conduct visual safety checks for machine wear, tooling damage, and correct positioning of safety guards before and during operation. Assist other machine operators as needed to support overall production goals. Support other departments with warehouse and production tasks when required. Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the assigned work area. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area throughout the shift. Essential Skills Proven experience in machine operation within a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to operate and set up roll forming equipment, slitters, and related machinery. Experience with general labor and assembly tasks in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively. Experience operating press brakes, stamping presses, or similar equipment. Familiarity with roll forming processes and production workflows. Ability to read and interpret production orders and follow detailed instructions. Skill in using measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices. Ability to operate equipment safely and follow established safety procedures. Physical ability to stand and reach with hands and arms for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds. Capability to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the job. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a clean, high-volume manufacturing environment. Comfort working around loud machinery and production equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Willingness to assist other operators and departments as production needs change. Reliability and consistency in following safety regulations and wearing required PPE. Work Environment The position is based in a clean manufacturing facility that can be loud due to operating machinery and production equipment. Work involves standing for extended periods, moving materials, and working around roll formers, slitters, press brakes, stamping presses, and other industrial machines. Team members are expected to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols. The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and safe operation of equipment, with consistent hours typical of a production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
