A PDI Technician installs components by assembling parts and subassemblies to vehicles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
may include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Positions parts and subassemblies by reading measurements or studying assembly instructions. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, sill, and/or ability required. Previous experience in fabrication, and assembly General knowledge of shop tools (i.e. grinders, saws, sanders) Basic machining skills Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints or work orders required Ability to drive, or be trained to drive forklift A proven track record of stability is preferred. Must be able to pass and drug screen Must have a clean driving record and a M class license.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routines reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
