Machine Operator Job Description This role operates production machinery and supports outside operations to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator loads parts, performs manual operations such as drilling and deburring, and uses precision measuring tools to ensure products meet strict dimensional and quality requirements. Responsibilities Operate production machinery safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Load parts into machines and ensure they are properly positioned and secured before operation. Perform outside operations such as manual drilling, deburring, and other secondary processes as needed. Use electric drills to perform drilling and tapping operations on products according to specifications. Use a torque wrench to bolt down fixtures into T-plates and ensure secure setups. Operate CNC mills, including

machines, following established procedures and work instructions. Perform saw and bandsaw operations to cut materials to required dimensions. Utilize calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other dimensional inspection tools to verify part quality. Conduct dimensional inspections to confirm parts meet engineering drawings and tolerances. Follow lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain organized work areas. Apply basic math skills to measure, calculate, and verify dimensions and quantities. Complete departmental paperwork accurately, including production records and inspection documentation. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Adapt to repetitive production work while maintaining attention to detail and consistent quality. Participate in learning and mastering setup processes, including more challenging setups as skills develop. Work regular and optional extended hours, including some Saturdays, to meet production demands. Essential Skills Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machine operation. One year of experience performing machine operation with a HAAS CNC or relevant equivalent experience. Ability to operate CNC mills and production machinery safely and effectively. Ability to perform saw and bandsaw operations. Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, thread gauges, and pin gauges. Ability to read and write at a High School level or equivalent to follow written instructions and complete paperwork. Basic math skills to perform measurements and calculations. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles. Understanding of lean Six Sigma concepts. Ability to perform dimensional inspections and interpret measurement results. Capability to perform manual operations such as drilling, deburring, and tapping. Ability to use an electric drill for drilling and tapping operations. Ability to use a torque wrench to secure fixtures properly. Capacity to work in a repetitive production setting while maintaining quality and focus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
