Job Description

We are actively seeking a Plating Technician for a well-established San Diego-area manufacturer with decades of experience producing highly engineered components for the aerospace and defense industries. They specialize in precision, tight-tolerance parts and hermetic connectors that meet demanding military and aerospace specifications.
Attention:
We will also consider candidates who may not have direct plating experience but bring strong hands-on backgrounds in electrochemical processes, surface treatment, chemical bath operations, or precision manufacturing — and have the aptitude and drive to grow into a plating role. Location is El Cajon.
Description/Responsibilities:
Electroplate small precision components to aerospace and defense specifications Prepare, clean, mask, and process parts before and after plating operations Monitor plating baths, chemical solutions, temperatures, and equipment performance Perform detailed inspections using measuring tools, calipers, and microscopes Read and interpret GD&T prints and follow manufacturing travelers and work instructions Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and production activity Keep the plating lab clean and organized, following all safety and PPE protocols Support overall lab operations and collaborate with the production team to meet quality standards We are looking for : 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, plating, chemical process operations, or precision inspection Hands-on experience with any of the following is a strong plus: electroplating, anodizing, passivation, electroless nickel, chromate conversion coating, chemical etching, or wet process operations Ability to read blueprints and GD&T drawings Experience with precision measuring tools — micrometers, calipers, indicators, or Go/NoGo gauges Comfortable handling very small, high-specification parts with fine motor dexterity Familiarity with aerospace or defense manufacturing environments, AS9100/ISO quality systems, or

Perks Pay:
$22 - $25/hr
