Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Hiring Immediately! We have immediate openings for Machine Operators for the extrusion department at a busy and stable manufacturing company. You will contribute to the production and manufacturing of cables for the entertainment, aerospace, military, medical, and other industries in a friendly environment with lots of growth opportunities. 2nd shift M to F 2:15 PM to 10:45

PM Job Description:

Operate and monitors extrusion machines and oversees melting of hot compound over cable. There are 4-6 types of equipment related to the extrusion operation and the operator must watch when the machine is in full operation. Set up and operate extrusion lines for wire & cable insulation/jacketing Load raw materials (PVC, Teflon, rubber, etc.) into extrusion machines Monitor temperature, pressure, and line speed to meet specs Ensure proper centering of conductor and insulation thickness Perform in-process quality checks Load the hopper with appropriate compound, preparation and set-up of extrusion machine; select correct tooling, calculate the diameter, set-up correct temperature for a perfect finish. Operator cleans the machine barrel, head, tools, prior to starting a new job, or a new type.

Skills:

At least 2 years of Manufacturing experience. 2 years of Machine Operator experience Must be able to read work orders, blueprints, and travelers and fill out paperwork. Basic math skills and use of a calculator. Experience using precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
