CNC Lathe Setup Technician - 2nd Shift American Drilling Company, Inc - 2.9 Torrance, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $32 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Tooling Fanuc Turning Attention to detail Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Position Summary The CNC Lathe Setup Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and preparing CNC lathe machines for production runs. This role ensures parts are produced to specification, machines run efficiently, and quality standards are consistently met. Key Responsibilities Set up CNC lathes according to job travelers, blueprints, and setup sheets. Install and adjust tooling , work holding, offsets, and fixtures for each job. Load programs and verify correct revision levels before running parts. Perform first‑article inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools. Make necessary adjustments to tooling, speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain part quality. Troubleshoot setup or machining issues and correct them promptly. Monitor machine performance during initial run to ensure stable, repeatable production. Maintain accurate documentation , including setup notes, inspection results, and job records. Ensure machines are clean, organized, and properly maintained before and after each setup. Collaborate with operators, programmers, and quality personnel to resolve issues and improve processes. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Qualifications Experience setting up CNC lathes (Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, or similar controls). Strong understanding of G‑code , tooling, and machining principles. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions . Skilled in using precision measuring instruments . Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability. Ability to lift materials and tooling as required. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods. Lifting up to 40-50 lbs as needed.
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
