GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direct supervision, sets up and operates cut-off machines to produce metal parts according to print specifications. Ensures quality workmanship through the use of precision measuring instruments and established inspection methods. Follows workflow schedules to meet customer demands and production requirements while maintaining safety and efficiency standards Specific Responsibilities / Areas of Responsibility Works with minimal supervision. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitor machining operations to ensure metal parts are produced in accordance with print specifications Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and specialized test equipment Interpret drawings and written instructions to machine products to customer and engineering requirements Execute production activities based on assigned priorities and communicate any deviations or issues to appropriate personnel Collaborate with Leadperson to monitor and support departmental performance; make necessary adjustments to equipment and workflow Verify that all required materials, tooling, and documentation are available prior to starting production Communicate production status, issues, and open items effectively across shifts to ensure continuity Perform daily pre-use equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operation Participate in daily 6S activities to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment Follow all safety procedures and actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace Participate in the development and review of Job Safety Analyses (JSA) Maintain flexibility to work overtime as required to meet production demands Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required Basic knowledge of machining tooling and applications Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) Understanding of machining speeds and feeds for a variety of high-strength materials Ability to perform machining operations on various metals and alloys Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions in English Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien (green card holder) status required to support work on government projects.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs daily, with frequent lifting up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials and equipment
  • Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials
  • Must be able to maintain focus, follow instructions, and perform tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
Pay:
$19.00 - $32.00 per hour
