Machine Operator

Machine Operator Overview:

This position is responsible for operating equipment: Screw Presses, Basket Press, Hot Breaks, Destoners, Decanters, and Mills. This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the general area and any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Operate various pieces of equipment, including but not limited to Screw Presses, Basket Press, Hot Breaks, Decanters, and Mills per the written standard operating procedures. Perform routine checks to ensure the highest quality product. Cross-training in other various support or backup roles. Assist sanitation with CIP's (clean in place) along with general area cleaning. Follow all plant GMP's along with Food Safety regulations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a production environment preferred. The ability to work overtime on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.

Skills:

The ability to multi-task and handle continuous interruptions without losing focus. Self-motivated and accountable for results. Write clearly and legibly to keep detailed and accurate records. Perform critical thinking and troubleshoot. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. Occasionally lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. Frequently twist, stoop, bend, climb, push, and/or pull. Perform repetitive tasks with both hands.

Environment:

Continuously exposed to slippery/wet surfaces. Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment. Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels. Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
