Packaging & Equipment Technician Windsor, CA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Food and beverage product quality management Maintenance inventory management Maintaining an organized workspace Safety standards in production Maintenance Mid-level Forklift Industrial equipment troubleshooting Sanitation procedures Task prioritization Packaging Smartsheet Quality control operations Craft beer experience Packaging (food) 1 year Clean workspace maintenance Cross-functional collaboration Escalation handling Machine minor repairs Production records Manufacturing company experience Communication skills Mechanical troubleshooting Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Operate and support all bottling, canning, and kegging operations Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment, including CIP of bright beer tanks and fillers Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on packaging line equipment Identify, escalate, and help resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime Operate keg racking equipment and support related processes Ensure all packaging tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time Maintain a strong focus on quality, including minimizing Total Packaged Oxygen (TPO) Accurately record and report packaging and production data in systems such as OBeer and Smartsheet Support quality control goals and proactively address issues that may impact product quality Operate a forklift Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE Maintain a clean and organized work environment Assist with managing the parts inventory system Collaborate with team members interdepartmentally to improve efficiency and reliability of operations Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance and repair Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically in a production environment Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure Clear and effective communication skills Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Qualifications Experience in packaging operations, manufacturing, or a related production environment Experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment is highly valued Hands-on exposure to packaging line operations and basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on production equipment Familiarity with quality control practices in a production setting is a plus Experience working with production tracking systems (such as OBeer, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus Forklift experience or the ability to obtain certification Direct brewery experience is preferred Appreciation for craft beer and a commitment to maintaining product quality throughout the packaging process Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and consistency Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Passion for quality, safety, and the brewing industry Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Ability to work scheduled shifts to meet production needs, including overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or packaging environment At least 1 year of experience performing maintenance or mechanical troubleshooting on equipment This role is responsible for supporting across all stages of packaging operations and operating packaging line equipment, while also performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure efficient and high-quality production. The Packaging & Maintenance Technician plays a key role in bottling, canning, and kegging operations by maintaining equipment readiness, supporting quality control efforts, preforming basic preventative maintenance and addressing mechanical issues as they arise. This position is hands-on and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to keep operations running smoothly.
