Purpose Operates a variety of different types of equipment and uses numerous hand tools to produce plastics parts for production while meeting scheduling timelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all Plastic Machine Operator I job requirements.
  • Produces parts according to set specifications.
  • Able to start up and shut down machines, make program changes.
  • Be proficient at balancing and changing out molds on each arm.
  • Must be able to operate plastic machines manually.
  • Must be proficient at de-flashing and inspecting part coming off rotomold machine.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience At least 6 months of experience in rotational molding Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Be proficient with operating equipment including scissor-lift platforms, control panels, weight scales, and stand-up forklift.
  • Has used hand routers, hand drills, band saw, hand grinder, air ratchets, impact wrench, and other hand tools to produce parts.
  • Possesses basic computer skills.
  • Retains information well.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Possesses good hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to apply basic mathematical concepts to work being done.
Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and recognized similarities and difference between words and between series of number. Ability to print and speak simple sentences Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with arms and hands. Standing for 8 hours and frequent walking required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually high, proper protective equipment is required.
