The role involves a variety of tasks including transporting, pumping, mixing, heating, cooling, and analyzing various chemical substances. The position requires the completion of batch process documentation and administrative tasks. Responsibilities + Set up and adjust distillation equipment. + Operate heating, cooling, vacuum, and pressure systems. + Transport, weigh, mix, and pump chemical materials. + Maintain an organized and clean work area. + Use analytical equipment to assess the quality of distillation cuts and final products. + Interpret results under supervision. + Monitor process parameters to ensure product quality, yields, and lot consistency. + Ensure proper care, safety, maintenance, and usage of technology, equipment, and systems. + Serve as a technical resource for Distillation Technicians. + Maintain all necessary production, safety, inventory, training, and other records in written and computer formats. + Read, understand, and carry out all department and companywide SOPs. + Assist and carry out instructions in emergency or high-stress scenarios. + Comply with all safety, environmental, and food safety policies and procedures. + Ensure daily compliance with Federal food safety regulations, company policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). + Perform related work as assigned. Essential Skills + Proficiency in chemistry and distillation techniques. + BS/BA in Chemistry or a related field is generally preferred. + One to five years of experience in distillation. + Experience in laboratory and chemical processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience serving as a technical resource. + Strong understanding of safety and environmental policies. + Ability to maintain detailed records and logs. Work Environment This is a third shift position with working hours from Sunday to Friday, 10:30pm to 7:00am. The role involves potential exposure to toxic chemicals, hazardous materials, fumes, unpleasant odors, and physical risks, requiring adherence to safety precautions and training. Physical effort includes handling containers using physical and mechanical means, moving 55-gallon drums weighing up to 700 lbs, and lifting 5-gallon containers of liquids or powders up to 44 lbs. The use of ladders and the ability to climb stairs is required, as well as standing or walking for more than 4 hours per day. The dress code includes a company-provided uniform, steel-toed boots, and a respirator mask. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Danbury, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $59000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
