This role ensures that SMT machines function smoothly, producing high-quality PCBs that meet production standards and customer specifications.
Machine Setup & Operation:
Set up and calibrate SMT machines according to production schedules and work orders. Load and unload PCBs onto machines, ensuring proper alignment and placement. Program and operate pick-and-place machines, Mirtec AOI's, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, and other related equipment. Perform manual component placement if needed.
Quality Control:
Inspect SMT assemblies for defects or irregularities such as misalignment, soldering defects, or missing components. Perform visual inspections to ensure the quality of the finished products. Ensure that PCBs meet the required specifications, tolerances, and safety standards.
Machine Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning on SMT equipment to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues to minimize production downtime. Report any major issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Production Monitoring:
Monitor machine performance throughout the production run, making adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency. Keep accurate records of production data, including machine settings, downtime, and material usage. Ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently to meet production targets.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety standards and protocols in the production area. Follow all company policies regarding quality control, safety, and environmental regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
Certification in SMT or electronics-related fields. (IPC-A-610, J-STD) Experience with Fuji Aimex3 machines and Mirtec AOIs.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in electronics or related fields is preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience as an SMT operator or in a similar electronics manufacturing role is preferred. Knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and troubleshooting.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of electronics, soldering, and PCB assembly processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and specifications. Familiarity with SMT machinery, including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and solder paste printers. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills for monitoring machine performance and documenting production data.
Working Conditions:
Standing for long periods, lifting, and bending may be required. Some shifts may involve overtime or weekend work based on production schedules.
