Job Title:
Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate safely manufactures metal E-Rings by operating a variety of production equipment, following detailed work instructions, and performing assembly and inspection tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Manufacture metal E-Rings in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. Safely operate production equipment, including Planish Press, Belt Sander, Roll Form Machines, Polish Equipment, and Hydraulic Presses to produce completed parts. Use standard measuring devices and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. Read and interpret work instructions and production documentation accurately. Perform assembly operations on components and finished parts as required. Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of parts to verify quality and identify defects. Communicate clearly with team members and other departments regarding work order status, production progress, and completion of tasks. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with machinery and tools. Use a computer to access work instructions, enter basic production information, and support documentation needs. Work cooperatively and professionally with others, following written and verbal directions from leads and supervisors. Maintain regular and reliable attendance to support consistent production schedules. Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production and quality targets. Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items up to 25 pounds as part of daily duties. Essential Skills Experience operating manufacturing or production machinery, such as presses, sanders, or similar equipment. Ability to safely operate Planish Press, Belt Sander, Roll Form Machines, Polish Equipment, and Hydraulic Presses after training. Assembly experience and the ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks with accuracy. Inspection experience, including the use of standard measuring devices and gauges for quality verification. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how machines and processes work. Ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic production documentation. Ability to read and write in English to follow written procedures and complete required documentation. Basic math skills to perform simple measurements and calculations related to production and inspection. Computer skills sufficient to navigate basic applications, view work instructions, and record information. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers. Ability to stand and walk frequently and use hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and a computer. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Consistent, reliable attendance and the ability to follow written and verbal directions. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education. Prior machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production setting. Prior assembly and inspection experience in an industrial environment. Supervisory experience or experience leading others in a production setting is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and departments as the role evolves. Ability to collaborate with manufacturing leads and support personnel to resolve production issues. Comfort working on different shifts and adapting to potential overtime when needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility dedicated to producing metal E-Rings. Production Associates work closely with other production team members, manufacturing leads, and manufacturing support staff in a collaborative environment. The position involves frequent standing and walking, as well as regular use of hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and a computer. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, are necessary to inspect parts and read instructions. The work is fast-paced and requires the ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards. Regular, reliable attendance and professional, cooperative interactions with coworkers and others are expected.Multiple shifts are available:
first shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime; second shift runs from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday; third shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
