This position is trained on SQF principles and is required to follow them and report through the chain of command and the non-conformance program, any issues of food safety that they may encounter or observe. What You'll Do Extruder Responsibilities Makes changeovers and operates Tandem Extruder-Coater equipment Keeps equipment supplied with paper, film, foil, polymers, primer coatings, and other related Extruder raw materials Directs activities of crew in operation of equipment and changeovers (SMED) Operates equipment at maximum practical speed consistent with good quality Notifies foreman or supervisor of reasons he/she cannot maintain current running and spoilage standards Makes minor repairs to and lubricates certain assigned components Initiates correction of operational problems Ensures crew follows established safety precautions and operates equipment with regard to safety of all personnel Assists in training of crew Records accurately all necessary information on daily computerized/manual production reports Performs all other required work within range of capabilities Quality of work must be up to specified standards Makes changeovers with assistance Binderies Responsibilities Slits to a high-quality standard, inspects, doctors, and rewinds products, ensuring finished product meets specific quality standards Makes changeovers with assistance Must use S.M.E.D. techniques to ensure quick changeovers Inspects work on machine for quality requirements by use of a strobe light Refers to internal and external job tickets for slitting, splicing, labeling, and palletizing instructions Responsible for accurately recording information specified by the foreman into the daily log Operates at maximum operating speeds, as long as quality of work meets specified standards Informs personnel on the next shift the status of the day's schedule Notifies foreman of material or mechanical problems Responsible for apprentice work being performed correctly Responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into the current Shop Floor Data Collection system Must follow G.M.P. guidelines Must be able to read a ruler, both standard and metric Must comply with SPC requirements Performs miscellaneous work as assigned Operations / Compliance Carries out all company safe operating, sanitation, and housekeeping policies Must strive constantly to raise quality level of work, facilitate production, and cut waste to a minimum Must understand workings and settings of equipment and ensure equipment, work areas, and accessory equipment are kept clean and in good working order Must be able to solve routine mechanical problems and make fine adjustments Responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and neatness of production and related reports Tools & Systems Shop Floor Data Collection system What You Bring Must be mechanically inclined, alert, and conscientious Must be capable of exercising good judgment in solving operational problems Must be capable of following directions Must be able to comprehend and follow oral, written, and/or visual instructions Must meet operating standards outlined in his/her grade Must have computer knowledge in Amgraph's current computer system Must be able to read a ruler, both standard and metric Why Join Us Competitive pay: $21.90-$22.63/hour
