Washington, DC Job Details Full-time | Contract $21.50 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Prepress Customer communication Customer service Machine operation High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Full Job Description Job Summary Join our dynamic print production team as a Print Shop Assistant, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will drive the creation of high-quality printed materials. In this energetic role, you'll support the entire printing process—from prepress preparations to final quality checks—ensuring every project meets our standards of excellence Duties Operates and maintains high-volume digital printing, copying, and bindery equipment in a secure, deadline-driven government print environment Produces official documents, reports, manuals, and bound materials in accordance with established procedures and quality standards Performs bindery and finishing operations, including cutting, folding, collating, trimming, binding (comb, coil, wire, saddle stitch), and laminating Implements complex machine setups requiring precise adjustments to ensure accurate alignment, pagination, and professional presentation of finished products Coordinates workflow between printing and bindery operations to support continuous production flow and meet established deadlines Conducts daily equipment inspections; clears paper jams, performs minor troubleshooting, and coordinates service calls with technicians as needed Maintains accountability for materials throughout the production and finishing process, supporting secure document handling requirements Assist and provide guidance to lower-level operators during production runs to ensure proper machine operation and adherence to procedures Monitors print quality and performs quality control inspections to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with specifications Maintains production records, meter logs, and supply inventories for management reporting Performs filing, archiving, and document handling tasks in accordance with customer and organizational requirements
Qualifications:
1-3+ years of experience in a professional office, print shop, or digital press environment Hands-on experience operating digital press equipment or comparable high-volume print machines strongly preferred Strong communication and customer service skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple requests efficiently Comfortable working both in front-facing reception coverage and behind-the-scenes operations High school diploma or GED requiredPay:
