In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, programming, and setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to ensure efficient and precise production runs. Your expertise will help optimize machining processes, maintain high-quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment and contribute to the creation of complex components across various industries. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately set up CNC machines. Program CNC lathes and milling machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, such as SolidWorks and CAD tools, ensuring precise tool paths and machining parameters. Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools for optimal performance during production runs. Operate CNC machines like Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring proper calibration using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines. Conduct machine setups including tool offsets, zeroing axes, and verifying machine parameters to meet tight tolerances required for high-precision manufacturing. Perform routine inspections of machined parts using precision instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards; troubleshoot and resolve machining issues promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery as needed for setup adjustments or repairs. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and reducing waste in setup procedures. Experience Proven experience in CNC machine setup and programming in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred. Familiarity with GD&T principles for interpreting complex blueprints and ensuring dimensional accuracy. Mechanical knowledge of CNC milling machines, lathes, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding equipment, and related tooling. Experience working with CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks or similar platforms for designing or modifying parts and tooling programs. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection tools. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, offsets, and tolerances necessary for precise machining operations. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency in setup processes; forklift certification is a plus for material handling tasks.
