Machine Operator Job Description This Machine Operator role is a hands-on, physically active position in a manufacturing environment. You will operate and adjust palletizing equipment, move product as needed, and frequently go up and down stairs throughout your shift. This role does not require forklift operation but does require consistent attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Responsibilities Operate palletizing machinery safely and efficiently throughout the shift. Make routine adjustments to the machine to maintain proper operation and product quality. Move product as needed to keep production flowing and ensure materials are in place. Stand for extended periods and load the machine with materials according to production requirements. Monitor equipment performance and promptly report any issues or irregularities. Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the palletizing equipment. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in a loud manufacturing environment. Collaborate with team members and support overall production goals. Work a 12-hour shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule, including every other weekend. Be available to pick up additional shifts when needed to support production coverage. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Hands-on machine operator experience, including operating and monitoring production equipment. Physical ability to stand for long periods, go up and down stairs frequently, and load machines with product. Strong attention to detail to ensure proper machine settings and product quality. Proven reliability with a track record of strong attendance. Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced production setting. Comfort working in a loud, noisy manufacturing environment. Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour night shift (6 p.m.-6 a.m.) on a 2-2-3 schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience specifically as a palletizer or similar machine operator is a plus. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility. Comfort making minor mechanical adjustments to production machinery. Willingness to work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule. This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for most of the 12-hour shift, regularly going up and down stairs, and loading materials into the machine. The schedule follows a 12-hour night shift from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a 2-2-3 rotation, which includes working every other weekend and occasional additional shifts when coverage is needed. Safety procedures are a core part of daily operations, and you will work closely with a production team in a structured, industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
