Modify and refine patterns based on fitting evaluations. Calculate pattern measurements according to size requirements, taking fabric stretch into account. Label prototypes and completed patterns with details such as size, section, style number, identification codes, and stitching guidelines. Produce pattern piece outlines by adjusting existing templates or drafting original designs. Develop a physical template used for large-scale production of a clothing design. Collaborate with designers to review specifications and transform garment concepts into individual pattern components ready for fabric layout. Review sketches, prototypes, and technical details to establish pattern piece dimensions and calculate required fabric quantities. Plan the most efficient arrangement of pattern pieces to reduce material waste and mark the fabric layout accordingly. Transfer paper pattern outlines onto cardboard, then cut them into sections to create durable templates. Copy designated pattern outlines onto fabric and cut the material using hand tools.
