Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Blown Film Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining blown film extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic films used in various packaging applications. Your expertise in plastics extrusion, machinery operation, and quality inspection will ensure efficient production processes and adherence to safety standards.
Job Duties:
Set up, operate, and monitor blown film extruders, ensuring optimal performance and product quality Adjust machine parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to maintain consistent film thickness and properties Conduct routine inspections of the extruder, die heads, and ancillary equipment for proper functioning and safety compliance Perform quality checks on finished films using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers, ensuring specifications are met Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, supporting materials handling and inventory management Troubleshoot mechanical issues with extrusion machinery, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and fabrication tools Maintain detailed production logs, shift reports, and quality documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating plastics blow molding or extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in plastics injection molding, fabrication, machining, and hand tools Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use precision measuring instruments accurately Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation adjustments Valid forklift certification and warehouse experience preferred for materials handling tasks Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to film thickness and machine settings Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
Shift Availability:
Full Time:
Day Shift 7am-3pm Evening Shift 3pm-11pm Night Shift 11pm-7am
Part Time:
Friday 11pm-7am Saturday 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am Sunday 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm
Pay:
$15.00 - $22.00 per hour
