JOB DESCRIPTION
- Packaging Operator Position Purpose and Objectives The Packaging Operator works in the last phase of the manufacturing line and performs the duties related to packing, labeling, storage, and shipment of the finished products. They are responsible for various duties in a manufacturing cGMP facility. Essential Job Functions Arranging products in packaging Knowledge of cGMP regulations applicable in the packaging area Packing the finished products through automated procedures, per set specifications Stocking up packaging materials, such as plastic sheets, wrapping paper, boxes, cartons, labels, ink, glue, etc. Moving finished packaged items from machine and separating rejected items Keeping inventory of finished and rejected packaged items Ensuring quality and conformity of packaged products according to the standards Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards Removing finished packaged items from machine and separating rejected items Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials Monitoring the production line, watching for problems such as labeling, neckbanding, and sealing Count and record finished and rejected packaged items Clean packaging containers; line and assemble cartons to prepare for the product packing Document the quantities in Finish Good Product within SAP Adherence to read procedures and SOP Responsible for area sanitization and manual cleaning of the area and equipment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Must complete all the tasks within given time, without supervision Must have excellent observation skills to prevent production line problems, bottlenecks, and out-of-quality situations Should have knowledge about the equipment used during the packaging process, such as printers, calculators, pallet jacks, tape dispensers, etc. Should have good interpersonal skills Must have mechanical and troubleshooting skills Must be knowledgeable in the SAP System Attention to details Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time Ability to work under pressure Overtime will be required, including weekends, if necessary Working Conditions Manufacturing environment Some allergens and enzymes may cause allergic reactions in the production area Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Good math and reading skills Basic computer skills Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual Mechanical experience a plus
Pay:
$16.00 per hour
