Job Description

Pickle Line Operator Position Summary The Pickle Line Operator is responsible for processing stainless steel and alloy pipe fittings and flanges through acid pickling solutions to remove scale, oxidation, and surface contaminants. This role involves handling industrial chemicals, operating material handling equipment, monitoring processing times, and ensuring products meet quality standards while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Load and unload stainless steel and alloy pipe fittings and flanges into pickling tanks. Safely immerse products into acid baths according to established processing procedures and specifications. Monitor pickling times, solution conditions, and product quality throughout the process. Rinse, neutralize, and prepare products for subsequent finishing, inspection, or packaging operations. Inspect finished products for cleanliness, surface finish, and quality standards. Handle and work around hazardous chemicals, including acids and cleaning solutions, while following all safety protocols. Maintain accurate production records and process documentation. Operate forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as authorized. Assist with monitoring chemical levels and notify supervisors of any issues requiring attention. Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations related to chemical processing operations. Perform routine housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work area. Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues to management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, metal finishing, chemical processing, or industrial production experience preferred. Experience working with stainless steel products is a plus. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout a 10-12 hour shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, heat, noise, and moving equipment. Must be able to wear required PPE, including chemical-resistant gloves, aprons, face shields, respirators (if required), safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
