Machine Shop Operator 1401 Marietta Boulevard NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 $23.96 - $28.85 an hour - Full-time $23.96 - $28.85 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components. Your expertise will ensure that all parts meet strict specifications and quality standards, contributing to the efficiency and success of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Set up and operate CNC milling machines, robotic welders, cold saw, press brake machines, and other machining equipment with precision and efficiency. Program CNC machines using CAM programming software and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to produce accurate parts. Conduct routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to ensure parts meet quality standards. Read and interpret complex blueprints and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar software for fabrication and assembly tasks. Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; prepare raw materials for machining or fabrication processes. Perform basic assembly tasks, welding, fabrication, and tooling adjustments as needed to meet production specifications. Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to safety protocols; document production data, shift reports, and quality control logs accurately. Experience Proven factory or manufacturing facility experience working with machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, or similar machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, tooling setup, and maintenance of industrial equipment. Familiarity with CNC programming languages (such as G-code), CAM programming software, and CAD design tools like SolidWorks. Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and quality control procedures to ensure precise manufacturing outcomes. Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse handling equipment is preferred. Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, welding torches, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Prior exposure to factory safety practices, materials handling procedures, packaging operations, or assembly line work is advantageous. Join us in a role where your technical skills drive innovation!
