Job Description

Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator safely operates, monitors, and adjusts production machinery to achieve daily output, quality, and safety targets. This role includes setting up machines, performing basic troubleshooting, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining accurate production records. The Machine Operator supports a continuous production flow and ensures all products meet established company and customer specifications. Responsibilities Operate production machinery safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals. Set up machines according to production specifications and work instructions. Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and output. Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment issues and escalate more complex problems as needed. Conduct regular quality inspections on materials and finished products to ensure they meet company and customer standards. Use measurement tools, such as tape measures, to verify product dimensions and tolerances. Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation to follow correct specifications. Record production data accurately, including quantities, measurements, and any issues encountered during the shift. Support continuous production flow by coordinating with team members and other departments as needed. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including machines and surrounding production space. Assist with basic maintenance tasks to keep machines in good working condition. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, when needed and if properly trained and authorized. Inspect saws and bandsaws before use and operate them safely for cutting operations. Contribute to overall production support by performing related duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proven experience in machine operation within a production or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with machine setup and adjustment for different production runs. Ability to operate saws and bandsaws safely and accurately. Strong quality control and inspection skills to ensure products meet specifications. Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving common machine issues. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documents. Proficiency with basic math to perform measurements, counts, and simple calculations. Strong attention to detail to maintain high quality and accurate records. Safety-oriented mindset with consistent adherence to safety procedures and guidelines. Ability to use measurement tools, including tape measures, to verify dimensions. Capability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized. Reliability in maintaining accurate production records and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting continuous production flow in a manufacturing environment. Experience in routine maintenance and cleaning of production machinery. Familiarity with housekeeping standards in industrial or manufacturing settings. Comfort working with inspection tools and following quality control processes. Willingness to learn new equipment and processes as production needs evolve. Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with production staff and supervisors. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production and manufacturing environment that relies on machinery such as saws, bandsaws, and other machine tools. You will work around industrial equipment and material handling tools, including forklifts, while following strict safety procedures. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling materials, and performing repetitive tasks with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality. The environment encourages cleanliness and organization, with regular housekeeping to keep work areas safe and efficient. Dress typically aligns with a manufacturing setting, including appropriate workwear and any required personal protective equipment provided or specified by the employer. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cartersville, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
