Columbus, GA Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Computer operation Blueprint specification interpretation Computer literacy Monitoring dimensions Shop math Dimensional measurements Precision measurement in machining Computer skills Full Job Description Loads raw materials Understand process improvement, component identification, material identification and inventory awareness Reduce lead times by following Preset & Set-up processes May set-up, operate, and maintain drill press, and turret lathe Work from production orders to perform designated operations Process all necessary adjustments to machines Follow work order, blueprint and standard instructions during machine set up Change collets, tool inserts, tool blocks and tool holders Perform basic level maintenance on machines as directed Enter programs for pre-programmed parts Maintain safe work environment by following company safety procedures Monitors controls and adjustments, providing adjustments to programs Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging and measurements. Performs basic preventive maintenance Requires understanding of basic program concepts and computer literacy Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance Must be able to read, write and perform fractional math calculations and measure both linear and angular attributes Must know how to read blueprints and be able to read and interpret shop orders, diagrams and equipment instructions. Frequently moves objects up to 50 pounds A CNC Technician sets up and operates metal-cutting machinery to build tools and parts of various machinery. Their duties include studying blueprints and creating the design, cutting metal and manipulating it to build the project, and performing regular maintenance on their machinery.
