Summary The Apprentice Route Setter assists the Head and Assistant Setters in all aspects of the route setting process. This position is designed as a hands-on learning opportunity to develop the foundational skills required for a professional setting role. Responsibilities Assist with setting, stripping, cleaning, and organizing holds Follow the explicit direction of the Head Setter Forerun and set routes up to 5.12 and boulders up to V6+ Assist with maintenance tasks (fixing spinners, inspecting auto belays, tagging routes, etc.) Support competition setup and teardown Adhere to all safety procedures and use protective equipment appropriately Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Flexible schedule with early morning and afternoon availability 2+ years of climbing experience preferred Comfortable working at heights of 40+ feet and on ropes, ladders, and lifts Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
