Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Saw Operator, where your precision and technical skills will drive the production of high-quality metal and sheet material components. In this role, you will operate a variety of cutting and fabrication equipment, ensuring that each piece meets strict specifications and quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment that values safety, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Operate saws, including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other automated cutting equipment to accurately cut metal sheets, plates, and profiles according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Set up and calibrate machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools for optimal performance. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure precise fabrication of parts. Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts for accuracy during and after production. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols involving cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring parts are correctly fabricated for final product assembly. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes or similar manufacturing equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with tooling setup, calibration procedures, and quality inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments. Ability to work safely around cranes, forklifts, stamping presses, press brake machines, and welding equipment. Basic math skills necessary for measuring parts and calculating dimensions. Knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal work and welding is highly desirable. Prior experience in manufacturing environments emphasizing machining or fabrication is preferred.
