MACHINE OPERATOR
$22.55/hr after qualification/90 days approximately $24.55/hr 2 nd shift Mon-Thurs 330p-130a overtime as needed Responsible for setting up and operating straight cutting equipment.
The Opportunity:
Sets up and operates straight cutting equipment. Observes and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed. Performs troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks as needed including minor repairs. Levels the cutting by using different thickness spotting tapes and packing. Reviews and follows the job ticket. Performs all assigned work effectively and on schedule. Accurately follows instructions. Performs quality check and in process inspections, looking for quality issues and ensuring product conforms to quality standards. Maintains make-ready and cutting standards. Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position and department. Follows established policies, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines. Completes non-compliance documentation as necessary. Keeps work area neat and clean. Trains co-workers to set up, operate and use equipment as directed. Performs other job duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
Experience operating Polar and Perfecta or similar straight cutting equipment required. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs., navigate stars, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift Must have basic computer skills: (data entry). Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtraction, multiplication simple fraction conversion to decimal and division. Must have the ability to read a ruler; must pass ruler test. Must pass basic reading test. Must pass color vision test. Must pass color hue test. Demonstrates ability to use samples and materials, such as vinyl's, spinjets and approved samples, to verify job accuracy and quality Must possess the following competencies: accuracy, reliability, decision making, time management and self-motivation. Must be able to maintain good attendance. Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.
