Job Description
Packaging Machine Operator Summary The PMO position is responsible for the operation of assigned packaging equipment while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Job Essential Functions Ability to operate packaging machine equipment efficiently Ability to properly set up & breakdown packaging machines with no guidance Demonstrates competence in machine operator training courses Follows SOP's to ensure quality products are being produced Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems Is proactive in reporting problems or potential problems immediately Selects and verifying correct bagger and scale recipes are being used Completes all required documentation accurately and timely Follows all food safety and quality requirements Works safely and follows all basic safety guidelines to help prevent accidents Communicates well to co-workers and Supervision Occasionally directs others (i.e. Packers, etc) Preferred Qualifications/Skills Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills and know basic math Be able to accurately record information on required documentation Be able to successfully speak, read and write English Be able to lift 50 pounds Be able to stand for duration of the shift (8 hours or more). Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/oull/lift, bend/twist, stoop. Be able to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times during the shift. Be able to work in noisy, wet, and cold environment, approx 34 degrees Be able to work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, ay shift, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary. High School diploma or equivalent Other Desired Qualifications/Skills Bilingual English/Spanish/Vietnamese Previous experience operating flexible packaging
