Fabric Cutter

Looking for experienced Fabric Cutter and Seamstresses to join our team! IMC is a world wide leader in Mascot or Character Costume Design and Manufacturing. IMC has corporate clients located in over 90 countries world wide and is seeking individuals who have experience either in sculpting, cos-play or theater set design / production. This position is specifically looking for a full time Fabric Cutter and Pattern Maker. This required standing on your feet for many hours, working with automated fabric cutting machines, scissors, and working with fabrics from furs to knits. Responsibilities are to cut all fabrics for our seamstresses and work with patterns for our Mascot costumes.

Friday Job Summary:

The Fabric Cutter is responsible for accurately measuring, marking, and cutting fabric according to patterns or specifications. The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience working with various types of fabrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Lay out, measure, and cut fabric using manual or electric cutting tools Follow patterns, templates, or cutting lists accurately Inspect fabric for defects before cutting Maintain clean and organized cutting tables and tools Keep track of fabric usage and minimize waste Collaborate with sewing and production teams to ensure proper workflow Adhere to safety guidelines and company procedures

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a fabric cutter or in a similar role preferred Ability to read and follow patterns or cutting instructions Comfortable using scissors, rotary cutters, and cutting machines Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

Experience in garment manufacturing, upholstery, or textile production Knowledge of different fabric types and how they behave when cut Basic math and measurement skills

Work Environment:

Standing for extended periods Handling fabric rolls and materials (may require lifting up to 30 lbs) Fast-paced production environment
