Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and supports CNC machining centers in a modern manufacturing environment. This role involves loading and unloading materials, monitoring multiple machines, performing basic troubleshooting, and conducting quality checks using precision measuring tools to ensure all parts meet exact specifications. Responsibilities Operate and support CNC machining centers, including setup, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting to maintain efficient production. Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of CNC machines in a safe and timely manner. Monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously to ensure continuous, efficient, and accurate operation. Change and adjust machine tools and offsets as needed to meet production specifications and quality standards. Perform routine maintenance checks on machines and promptly report any mechanical or performance issues. Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Interpret and work from technical blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure parts meet exact specifications. Use hand tools and inspection tools to verify dimensions and surface quality of parts throughout the production process. Support general production activities around the CNC machining center as needed to keep workflow moving smoothly. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Lift, carry, and handle awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily production activities. Stand for extended periods while operating machines and performing inspections. Essential Skills Experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Ability to operate and support CNC machines and CNC machining centers. Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for quality checks. Ability to interpret and work from technical blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production machinery and hand tools. Capability to perform detailed inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and consistent job tenure. Ability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time while operating equipment and performing inspections. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Reliability and willingness to support both general production tasks and CNC operation as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous CNC machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience with skilled assembly or production support work is beneficial. Familiarity with machine operation, machine operating procedures, and production workflows. Comfort using a variety of hand tools in a manufacturing setting. Ability to work from and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Why Work Here? The environment is very clean and safety-focused, with modern CNC machining centers and up-to-date equipment. The position requires standing for long periods and handling items up to 50 pounds. Multiple shift options are available across four schedules, and candidates must be open to all: A Shift runs Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; B Shift runs Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; C Shift runs Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; D Shift runs Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vidalia, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $23.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
