Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lasers and brake press machines to cut, trim, or shape metal sheets according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine the correct dimensions and tolerances
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy of cuts
- Perform quality inspections of finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to achieve desired results
- Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with tooling changes and maintenance tasks as required
Skills:
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and their proper use
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques
- Ability to operate overhead cranes for material handling purposes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
