Job Title:
Press Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Composite Press Operator or Continuous Compression Molding (CCM) Operator to join our team. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, mechanical skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The position involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining a press or CCM machine used to produce composite laminate. Candidates must be comfortable working in a hot environment and capable of handling heavy tooling. Responsibilities Prepare the CCM machine for operation by loading setup cards, heating dies, and building stackups/loading creels. Adjust machine temperature, pressure, speed, and alignment based on product specifications. Inspect material/laminate for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, thickness, and visual defects throughout the entire process. Record production measurements, document quality results, and maintain batch records. Clean dies and machine components to prevent contamination or defects. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and experience with technical work. Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly. Experience with meeting production goals and working with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior manufacturing and machine operating experience is preferred. Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently to load the press. Capability to work in hot, high-pressure environments around heavy machinery. Mathematical skills and ability to perform basic computer functions and data entry. Why Work Here? Work Environment Join our aerospace company that manufactures thermoplastic composite parts for airplanes using carbon fiber. Our main clients include Boeing, Airbus, and Blue Origin. Our workplace features innovative technology, such as laser jets, welders, saws, ovens, and presses, valued in millions of dollars. The shop is exceptionally clean with well-maintained processes, and while currently employing 70 people, we have accommodated up to 180 employees in the past. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Post Falls, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
