Job Description

Reports To:
Production Supervisor Job Summary:
The Production Machine Operator I will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production. The Machine Operator will supervise and lead an assigned team through the daily activities in production to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists with training of team members. Oversee the daily workflow; oversees scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment. Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances. Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Complies with all company, safety, production, and quality policies, procedure rules, and guidelines. Identifies and reports all safety hazards, concerns, or incidents to management. Participate in the daily activities required to process the current production jobs. Obeys all SOP s and GMP s. Treats others with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Ensures all production documentation is completed accurately and timely as necessary. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintains the production floor to meet all safety and GMP requirements. Dedicate time at the end of the shift to cleaning and organizing assigned work areas. Wiping down and sanitizing workstations, tools, and equipment. Disposing of waste, scrap materials, and recyclables in designated containers Returning tools and materials to proper storage locations. Completing a quick visual inspection to ensure the area meets cleanliness and safety standards. Document cleaning and what inspections were performed. Promotes a positive team environment and collaborates well with others. Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives. Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas. Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Page Break Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. Ability to interpret and translate designs and documentation. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations. Inspects the quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of related experience is required. Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Safety and Security:
Complies with all safety and security policies, procedures and rules including, but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s); Workplace Violence Prevention; Safety Data Sheets (SDS); Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO); Machine safety; Emergency Evacuations and Building Security; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and injuries and near miss/incidents/accidents; Uses and cares for company equipment and materials properly.
