Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all plant safety policies and procedures. Assist in preparing and inspecting bulk products, identifying and removing defects (e.g., deformed, discolored, misshaped materials). Communicate effectively with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to report and escalate product or equipment issues. Operate and maintain equipment, using general tools such as wrenches, tape measures, and hammers. Participate in training and certification programs as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing scrap, inspecting machines, and reporting hazards. Read work orders and select correct edge and material specifications. Set up, adjust, and run equipment to meet work order requirements and maintain tight tolerances. Continuously inspect material during processing to ensure quality standards are met. Accurately identify and document all materials by alloy, size, melt, weight, and edge. Properly label and group finished coils by work order and stage them for the next process. Use micrometers, calipers, grinders, and cutters to take samples for quality control. Assist supervisors, managers, and fellow operators as needed. Train new operators when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Understanding of production procedures. Analytical skills. Attention to detail. Teamwork and communication skills
