The Setup Technician is responsible for performing mold changes, machine setups, process startups, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently to meet quality and production standards. This position plays a key role in minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe, productive work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform mold changes and machine setups on injection molding equipment. Start up and shut down molding machines according to established procedures. Adjust machine parameters to ensure quality parts are produced within specifications. Troubleshoot processing, equipment, and quality issues during production runs. Verify first-piece inspections and ensure products meet quality standards. Monitor machine performance and make process adjustments as needed. Assist with preventative maintenance activities on molds and equipment. Maintain accurate production and setup documentation. Ensure all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies are followed. Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, and production operators to meet production goals. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce scrap. Qualifications Previous experience in injection molding machine setup and processing preferred. Knowledge of mold installation, removal, and startup procedures. Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, and quality specifications. Experience troubleshooting molding processes and equipment issues. Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay:
$19.00 - $27.00 per hour
