Machine Operator Trainee

HEADER HELPER/TRAINEE

1st and 2nd shift available. 10% bonus paid for 2nd shift. Must be mechanically inclined, willing to learn! Position Description Summary Maximize production of quality parts of machine and learn function of all parts of the header. Position Responsibilities Keep headers supplied with stock Run new wire through wire-drawer; weld wire as needed Learn to identify various parts of cold header and tooling nomenclature Learn to check parts to blueprint Dump parts as needed; transport to weigh station if required Learn SPC Visually inspect work for bent/smashed parts, scratches and breakouts Perform machine preventative maintenance per schedule; keep work area clean, and clear. Mop floor at least twice daily or as needed Gets machine tools from crib. Learn to install in machine Learn to use and accurately read all necessary gauges Follow all safety rules and procedures Perform other tasks as directed by trainer or supervisor Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Mechanical ability and interest. Willing to work long and sometimes unusual hours on day/evening shifts. Individual should be "opportunity drive"; looking for a possible career in manufacturing rather than just a job. Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs Education and Experience High School diploma or the equivalent formal experience required.
