Job Description
Black Bros. Co. is seeking a General Machine Operator to set up and operate a variety of machine tools and welding equipment. This role is responsible for producing quality parts that meet specifications while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate equipment such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, radial drills, and welding tools Perform machining operations including turning, drilling, tapping, reaming, and facing Select and install tooling, fixtures, and holding devices and adjust feeds and speeds Run test parts, verify setup against prints, and make adjustments as needed Inspect parts throughout the run to ensure quality standards are met Replace worn tooling and maintain equipment lubrication Move materials using hand trucks, carts, and pallet jacks Report equipment or material issues to supervision Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Qualifications 1-3 years of machining or related experience Ability to read prints, shop orders, and basic measurements Basic math skills Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) Physical Requirements & Work Environment Regular standing, walking, lifting, and handling of materials Light to moderate lifting required
