Job Description
A large metal manufacturer in Bordon, IN, needs an Machine Operator Helper. This is an
IMMEDIATE START
opportunity on 1st shift. Hours/ Schedule is 5:30 am to 4 pm; Monday-Friday.Job Description:
- Machine operator helpers would include stacking bagged products on pallets and moving materials around the bagging building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for stacking and moving bagged product after the bagging machine completes its process.
- Maintain an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be done.
- Understand the packaging equipment being used and how to adjust when needed. Identify packaging defects quickly and make adjustments immediately.
- Ability to learn about machine setup, including thread/alignment, film, bag length, inc.
- Support the machine operator for safe and quick changeovers so the production line runs smoothly and efficiently with no unnecessary delays.
- Clean machines and areas as appropriate and use equipment effectively, ensuring it remains in good working order.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with moderate supervision
- High level of personal integrity
- Quality conscious
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Good written and analytical skills
- Production-oriented
- Able to operate a forklift to move pallets or unload pallet trailers, preferred.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Able to lift 40-50 lbs. to stack on pallets.
- Potential for advancement by learning other tasks/equipment.
Qualifications:
- Customer service interaction with internal and external customers for loading top-side trailers, being courteous and cooperative towards customers and co-workers.
- Time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely .
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and work through challenges as they arise.
- Adhere to the Company's policies and rules set forth, promote the Company's safety standards, and do not take risks.
- Able to stand for long periods, up to the full duration of the work hours.
