Full Job Description Description:
The Mixing Technician supports daily operations by assisting with production processes, performing intermediate tasks, and helping maintain workflow across the department. This includes working in a physically demanding and sometimes dirty environment involving carbon black, oils, and rubber compounds. The Technician plays a key role in training, problem-solving, and documentation and also serves as the backup shift lead , supporting leadership responsibilities when needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support mixing processes by assisting with changeovers, material staging, and workflow coordination Move totes, raw materials, and finished batches as needed to support production. Perform or assist with scrap reporting, raw material movement, and broken tote processes Assist with Mooney testing, scorch testing, and MDR testing, including proper documentation Support dip tank processes and report any concerns or abnormalities Perform routine upkeep such as greasing skip conveyor wheels, checking basic conditions, and communicating issues Assist with receiving bulk oil and carbon black deliveries following established procedures Accurately complete the Process Log during each changeover or at least once per shift, documenting ingredients, recipe details, settings, observations, and process notes Support end-of-shift reporting including downtime notes, production counts, and communication to the lead or supervisor Communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, and team members regarding workflow needs or safety issues Serve as the backup shift lead, directing workflow and supporting shift coordination during absences Follow and uphold company policies: safety, PPE, attendance, discipline, time clock, and cell phone use Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas following 5S expectations Identify and report inefficiencies, quality concerns, or improvement opportunities Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications Ability to work in a dirty, fast-paced, physical manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
  • Dependable attendance and ability to assist with leadership support
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform repetitive motion work
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production processes
  • Understanding of company policies and willingness to uphold expectations Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience in training or supporting leadership preferred Work Environments The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employer encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
